Guaguanco fever Creole Latin style!
Guaguancó is one of the 3 main rhythms of Cuban Rumba, combining percussion, voice and dance, which was all the rage in the USA, the Caribbean and Central America from the end of the 1960s.
Guyana n' is no exception. She wants her Creole Latin style guaguanco!
Who else to satisfy the people, but the best dance group of the time…Les Vautours!
French Guyana Guaguanco
In 1972, Renato Garros, (deceased September 1, 2016) sings, accompanied by the Vautours, a mythical group of which he is one of the singers, on this 45T on which appear two titles: " Guyana Guaguanco” and “Fo tu juge”.
"Guyane Guaguanco" of which he is the songwriter is a frenzied guaguanco with simple lyrics in Creole, describing the atmosphere and the why and how well:
"After singing all the popular rhythms of the time in all the balls (biguine, boogaloo, bolero, cha-cha-cha, samba, mambo)", all that remained was to sing the guaguanco... thing done Mr. Garros!
